A few complaints about White Star - our party of five made the place overflow, and since it was raining they didn’t have their patio set out. Too bad I’m not into take-away breakfast. Not only did they have no room, but they had no bathroom either! You have to go to The Albert if you need to pee.
The complaints are minimal, and the rest of the menu looked pretty good. Their specialty is the pulled pork sandwich. Bruce said he was pulling pork when I entered the restaurant, and it wasn’t lewd so don’t think that.
I got to try a bite of one of our fellow Connoisseur’s pulled pork sandwich, and I can’t wait to go back and have a whole one. Incredibly tasty.
If you’re in a hurry and need to eat something that fits in your hand, come for their breakfast sandwich. Otherwise, try the pulled pork.

White Star opened on April 25, 2009. It’s location is where Albert Street Burgers used to be. Bruce Smedts, the owner, spent 12 days de-greasing the place alone when he took over.
He named the restaurant after the White Star Line of ships because he is a big ship fan. The most famous White Star ship was the Titanic.
White Star was the tiniest restaurant I’d ever seen, smaller even than frenchway. They don’t serve a breakfast special like we’re used to, but rather have a tasty fried egg sandwich. Very similar to the Underground Cafe’s beckers. I ordered fries to pretend like I had hashbrowns.

The sandwich had two fried eggs, thick cut bacon, tomato and mayo on a fresh sesame seed bun. It was pretty tasty, though the slurge factor was hard to determine because it came served in a paper wrapper. The last couple bites were soggy, so I can safely assume the grease was there. The fries were really good, and Frank’s hot sauce decorated all our sandwiches. The coffee was decent... Leif said that he wouldn’t have to throw it in the street at least, like we’ve done at places like Danny’s All-Day Breakfast.
