Everybody in the lineup was grouchy because of the wait and the weather, and I wasn’t feeling very Festival-y myself very quickly. Once we ordered, our plates were ready in about 45 seconds. Everything is kept in warming trays, they just had to toast the bread. Well, one can imagine that 45 seconds is not a good toasting time. I looked at my plate and sighed in despair. Grey scrambled eggs, bread that was only pretending to have even been looked at by a heat source, two shriveled pieces of bacon (really 1 ½) and a single hashbrown patty. This was looking desperate.
Good thing I had my mug of volunteer coffee from the Festival. It was terrific. The breakfast, however, compared unfavourably to the Pony Corral, our lowest rated review. This trumps the PC no question. Did I mention that the bread came dry, and the margarine was in a tub sitting on a table outside the kiosk, filling up with rainwater? No? Ok, well, the rainwater/margarine made me cry a little bit inside.
For seven bucks I could have gotten a roti instead.
Next time I’m going to the Fresh kiosk.
Andrew has to butter his own cold toast.

Well, this was a disappointment. First off, it was pissing rain all day Saturday. It was pissing rain when it was time for breakfast, it was pissing rain when it was time for bed. This automatically set us up for a bad experience. The rest of it cannot be blamed on the weather, just poor, poor breakfast respect.
The 30 minute wait in a line that was 15 feet long was excruciating. We were there an hour after they opened, but people who were there at the opening were still waiting for their orders when we arrived.
Andrew looks unhappy because he slept in a puddle last night, got woken up by wind and rain, is totally hungover and is wearing a duct taped rain poncho that makes him look like a homeless hippie.
