The first floor area has a lot of character while the second floor was slightly fancier, but both had huge windows to allow the viewing of curling. Unfortunately, the only tables in front of the windows were really tiny. They were meant for putting beers on, not breakfasts, so we had to watch from a little further away while we ate.
The nameless greasy spoon serves standard trashy food like burgers and hot dogs, and a lone breakfast item, the special. No omelettes, no eggs Benedict and no pancakes; just the special, quick n’ dirty.
In a sentence – the self-serve coffee was awful, the toast was super skinny, the bacon was unremarkable, the sausages were awful breakfast links, the potatoes were deep-fried and cardboardy and there was no hot sauce. In a word - mediocre.
The only reason to go out of your way to eat here is if you really like curling. Otherwise, there’s a Salisbury House up the street (not that we’re huge advocates of Sal’s).

Right away I have to tell you that the experience of eating breakfast and watching curling is one you should try. I learned that curling isn’t boring, contrary to popular belief and testament. Pound a couple beers in ya and you’re sitting pretty. We didn’t drink with our breakfast, but we had been advised to do so.
