The pre-made eggs benedict looked good but the English muffins proved to be tough. The potatoes were pretty good – huge chunks of friend potato. The bacon and sausage were married in the same warming tray, and both proved to be adequate. The bacon was actually shredded, something we’ve not encountered before. The sausages were a little better than breakfast links, but were nothing special.

The rest of the buffet included a fruit tray, plates of sandwich meats and unimaginative cheeses, good soups and unlabeled desserts. They of course had a roast with a chef standing by waiting to carve, but previous experiences with buffet roasts made me just walk on by.

The rotating view was quite amusing. It revolves about once an hour, so by the time we left we were about 1/6 of the way past where we started. It was a nice, sunny day so we played “what’s that building” quite a lot. One of the servers was very helpful with this game.

In the end, some of our party felt queasy from the constant motion. I was unaffected, but I didn’t feel satisfied so much as just stuffed. For $16 you can get a more satisfying meal elsewhere, but as an average buffet, this was pretty good.

The coffee was $2.50 and the juice $2.00 extra. Nice surprise.

On the plus side, they were able to serve us booze and we had a Brekkiversary toast.

Nice view of downtown Winnipeg

The Revolving Restaurant is a beautifully designed room that just happens to spin all the time. The ceiling was reflective of the Fort Garry Hotel next door, with gold trim in intricate designs. The walls were almost non-existent, to allow for the greatest views possible. Thanks for that. The tables are sort of crammed together and the chairs have high armrests. Those two factors made leaving one’s spot difficult. As this was a buffet (requiring one to leave their seat frequently), a point was deducted for comfort. The buffet itself was a decent spread, but nothing like the buffets we’ve encountered before, such as the one at The Current. Our orange juice was definitely from concentrate, and the coffee came straight from the underground water table of coffee (or underground coffee table, if you will).
