All in all, I was unimpressed. It’s a good atmosphere to bring your kids into, but the Special is repellant. The saving points were the servers and the art.
It was actually difficult to pay as well, which was annoying. It took an inordinate amount of time to sort out our bills, and they weren’t even clumped together. Left me with a bad taste in my mouth, but I guess they realized that as they supply mints on the way out.

Pembina Village Restaurant
333 Pembina Highway
This family-style restaurant was unassuming, but the food assumed that it was good. First mistake. There were some nice, old photographs on the walls from the restaurant’s history, as well as some decent paintings, but the hindi flute music had us puzzled.
We were a very large party (about 20) so those who weren’t at the long tables in the middle were crammed into tight booths. Our servers were for the most part pretty cheery, which was nice. The food the served up though, was not cheery at all. First of all, the coffee came directly from the underground lake of poor coffee that so many places siphon from. My eggs came as ordered, and were completely standard, so they have that going for them at least. But the potatoes were Nook-style soggy and dishwater-tasting, the toast was just as soggy, and the meats were greasy. I got the big breakfast with bacon and sausage, and while the bacon was pretty tasty, the sausages were breakfast links. I hate that.
